In the 300 hour teacher training, we spend a lot of time uncovering who we truly are as teachers and make a commitment to fostering those aspects of the practice that spark joy. I've been sharing the following information with trainees and mentors, because I think it's important to remember that we don't have to be all things to all students. If we are trying to do that then you can be sure that you're going to get burnt out really quickly.
How would you categorize yourself based on the types below?* (You can feel drawn to more than one category.)
This can change over the lifetime of your yoga teaching career. Right now, I'm feeling the Educator/Healer category. I'm exploring the ways that I can create steadiness and a container for studentship. My teaching is not flashy, yet it feels very grounded and consistent. I love to tap into the more subtle, energetic realm where there's a sweetness to be cherished in our quiet presence.
